Weather for Derby and Derbyshire, August 21st, 2020

Good morning all, well the Met Office reports we will have sunny spells with showers today and that it will be unseasonably windy.

It will be largely dry with sunny spells and a few showers through the morning, but becoming very windy across all parts. Strong winds continue into the afternoon with further sunny spells and occasional blustery showers. Feeling rather warm out of the wind. Maximum Temperature 23 °C

This evening and tonight the winds will ease, but it remains breezy. Most places dry, with clear spells, although a few heavy showers could affect mainly northern and western parts at times. Minimum Temperature 14 °C

The UV Index is medium, Pollution levels are low but, the Pollen Index is high. (#HayfeverSucks ).

There is a Yellow Warning for wind in place from 04.00 - 18.00 across most of the UK, including Derbyshire today that may cause travel and temporary power disruption. So stay safe out there. There are also no flood alerts or warnings currently in place for Derby and Derbyshire.

The BBC reports a very windy day with gusts of 40-50mph. It will be a mostly cloudy day with some scattered blustery showers. A few brighter spells are possible in the afternoon for some. This evening and tonight Showers beginning to ease overnight to leave some clear spells for time. A few showers developing towards the end of the night. Remaining windy, but easing slightly towards the end of the night.

And AccuWeather reports a cloudy morning, brightening up throughout the day with the odd shower.
